Christmas message from the President Well what a year 2010 has been for us all. Here at the Sebel Hotel we have seen everything from a drought to a flood. We seem to get it all in hotels and the stories I could tell. Well I do tell them actually but maybe you will have to stop by for a chat and I can fill you in on the more sordid details. At the Hawkesbury Chamber of Commerce we sore a new team take the reins in the later part of the year. The new executive are a motivated bunch who are all focused on making the Hawkesbury Region the number one point on the map on places to go. The previous executive started the process and this can’t be forgotten. They really worked hard on increasing the Profile of the Chamber in the local community and gave it a voice to the powers to be. A big thank you to them. As I write the Hawkesbury area has just been hit by torrential rain, so much so that the staff and I at the hotel started work on the construction of a new ark. Just goes to show however how unreal this area can be because I look out the window to see beautiful blue skies. I have to admit as a foreigner to the region it really is something to be very proud of. It is so beautiful here. The Chamber next year will be filled with a lot of exciting events with ample opportunities for the good business folk of this area to get together and come up with plans to increase business traffic. The Chamber will be talking with Local, State and Federal Governments on the important issues that matter to us. Stay tuned to the Website as you will see this transform into a very powerful tool. Should be very high on your favourite list. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone out there a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Safe New Year. Let us all hope that 2011 brings everyone the happiness and prosperity that we all enjoy living in this amazing area we call the Hawkesbury. See you all in 2011. Jason Patterson |
